John Rodgers: Idiot Album Release Party!

I'm excited to say that my friend, Micah Sherman and I have a new comedy album, "John Rodgers: Idiot" available on itunes at: http://apple.co/1InT4Ao and Amazon (John Rodgers: Idiot [Explicit])

I'm really excited about each of the sketches we've put together for this as well as the overall story that ties them together.

Robert Potter did amazing job with the cover art for this album as well as for the animation of our track, The Writer's Circle.

We'll be having our album release party on September 4. If you're around, come on by! More info about location and the great events we have planned at: DanandMicah.com

Evolution of Dance in a Lifetime

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Micah Sherman for over a decade now. We've written and produced sketches with fellow comedian, Joe List for our comedy group, Funny Cakes. We've co-produced a comedy album, Lampshades and Ottomans. And recently he's had me edit his mocumentary short, The Marriage Pact, and his feature length documentary, Like Me.  We've also started putting the finishing touches on our second comedy album, John Rodgers: Idiot, which we hope to release soon.

Micah, a brilliant actor/improviser/comedian, has created several successful shows at the PIT theater, one of them being the Old School Sketch Comedy Show. Each show, the cast has a week to construct a 30-40 minute sketch show. I've been a part of it twice now and both times it's been exhausting yet fulfilling. It's amazing to see how much material you and a group of your peers can pull together when under a tight deadline.

On Tuesday, March 3, The Old School Sketch Comedy Show celebrated its one year anniversary and to help promote the show I worked with Micah, Alyssa Lott, Jerry Emeka, SlaneyRose Jordan, and  shot and edited this sketch, based on one of the sketches from an earlier show.

OSVU: The Overly Sensitive Victim's Unit

For the past year I've had the pleasure of working with Dan Goodman on various projects, including "12 Years a Temp" and "So You Think You Can Druglord" for Fusion TV and a feature length script for Dan's movie, Skinja.

Here is the latest piece we collaborated on, OSVU.

I shot this with a Canon 6D and a 24-70mm L Series lens for the wides and a 85 mm cine lens for the closeups.

Dan edited the piece in Final Cut 7 and added a cool color correction effect with the overlay composite mode give it a filmic feel.

Written by Dan Goodman and Adam Nover, it features Guy Whitney, Zach Garner, Kevin R. Freer and some consulting work done by Mike Payne.

The piece was recently featured on College Humor!
