Rixton's Cover Of "Hold On, We're Going Home

Shot and edited this music video for AwesomenessTV.  It features British band, Rixton covering Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home."  Great guys to work with, though I had the song stuck in my head non-stop for a month after editing the video.  Now that I'm embedding it on my blog it's stuck in my head again.  Enjoy.

Heromakers Back At the Recording Studio

Jay Nog and I went back to the Gigantic Post recording studio to sit down with Perry Levy while he put on the final touches for our soundtrack mix.  Definitely interesting to see how many layers go into molding the atmosphere for a cartoon and how small tweaks in volume and cuts can make all the difference.  Very excited with how it came out and excited for the screening of it, which should be happening around July.

New Video For The Einstein Emerging Leaders

Recently shot and edited a series of short documentaries for the Einstein Emerging Leaders (EEL) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  They've launched a great campaign, My Einstein, in which anyone can get involved with a specific line of Einstein's medicine, research, and clinical care through volunteer opportunities, philanthropy, discussion panels, parties, and more...

Here's one of the videos from the series:

Heromakers Begins Animation!

Several months ago, Jay Nog and I, with the help of over 70 backers, successfully funded our kickstarter campaign to raise money for an animated comedy trailer.  You can find out more about the kickstarter campaign HERE and the Heromakers project HERE.

Jay and I recently got to visit the Buzzco animation team at their studio to see the rough animatic they'd devised for the Heromakers trailer.  The animatic was a very rough version of how the final animation will look, laying out the general locations of sketched out scenery and characters.  Very exciting to see it all come to life as over a year of working with the script.

Video Shoot with Police Academy's Michael Winslow

Had a really fun three camera shoot for Solve Media with the "Man of 10,000 Voices,"  Michael Winslow (Police Academy, Spaceballs, Gremlins).  Great guy to work with and very funny.

Taped it in front of a live audience of 10 kids on couch cushions.  Had flashbacks of my camp counselor days... but I think I kept my cool better than I did as a 9th grader.  Also, the kids were better behaved and weren't hitting each other in the face with sticks in 100 degree weather... so that helped.

Looking forward to releasing the video.  Should be out soon.

Spending Time With...Cory McAbee

After several years of living in the same city and never speaking to my good friend, Julie Miller, we finally got to hang out again. She recently invited me to help shoot for her new web-series: "Spending Time With..."  Each episode Dale Seever of Dale Radio spends time various personalities around the city.  In this first episode he spends time with filmmaker, Cory McAbee and covers everything from butter puppets to... I think butter puppets is probably enough of a reason to watch.

New Short Social Media Documentary

Had a great time working with Eric Newman of ENEW Films to help shoot and edit this short documentary for Iprex and Makovsky Integrated Communications.

The whole weekend was definitely very interesting and informative and explained quite a bit about social media.

The main message I took away from it was to experiment with different social media platforms and figure out what works for you.  As Sree Sreenivasan, the Chief Digital Officer of Columbia University, said, "Be early testers and late adopters of technology."

Recently I've started playing around with Vine and casting unknowing family members as characters in my short twitter films.  So far I've mostly succeeded in annoying my family, but still having fun figuring out what Vine can offer that normal video can't.

World Chess Champion vs. Child Prodigy

Got to help film former World Chess Champion, Garry Kasparov, play against child prodigy, Phiona Mutesi.  You can see the "Daily Beast" video HERE.  I also have a sweet cameo/was standing in the shot -- at the beginning.

The ninth grade chess team version of me would've been excited to see this moment.  That's right, I was awesome in high school.
